ESSEX SCHOOL Opened in January 2009 the Essex School is a unique educational facility. The building itself is located in Stansted and therefore highly accessible to both Essex and Hertfordshire Local Authorities. The school's bright soft furnishings are conducive to fostering a stimulating but relaxed environment to learn in. The Essex School looks to rehabilitate attitudes to education, changing negative experiences of school into a positivity. At the Essex School young people are surrounded by exceptional facilities, making use of the local Stansted airport to understand and appreciate the travel and tourism industry alongside study of retail services and providers. The Norman Stansted Mountfitchet Castle is within a 10 minute travelling distance and can be used to further understand History and developments of civilizations, whilst the local Molten Brown Factory and Elsenham Water works provide excellent opportunities to understand industry within the remit of beauty and public provision. Of course our school plans to make full use of neighboring driving ranges and leisure facilities ensuring students have optimum opportunity to develop and enjoy PE sessions. Young people may enter the school at any stage during the academic year. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which caters for children of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with special educational needs. In addition to the requirements of the National Curriculum, vocational training and physical activity are offered. In line with the school’s ethos of respect and responsibility, behavioural stability is also strongly encouraged. As part of an integration program, students will take part in emotional literacy and anger management workshops to help then regulate and manage their emotions and behaviours. We welcome a tour of the school at any time to see our provision in operation For more information on our Essex School or to arrange a visit please contact Head Teacher Tariq Verpalen on 01279 850474 or on 07917048860 or email Tariq.Verplen@continuumgroup.org.uk |
