Continuum’s newest care facility, “The Farmyard” is now open at Walnut Tree Lodge in Bedfordshire.
“The Farmyard” at Walnut Tree Lodge offers a ‘care farming’ experience for young people with special educational needs (SEN), predominately to those with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD).
This brand new service seeks to progress emotional and social competencies via dynamic engagement with a curriculum focused on horticulture, animal husbandry and land management.
Inspired by the National Care Farming Initiative UK (ncfi.org.uk), we believe a care farm such as this will provide young people with a unique experience whilst allowing them to get their hands dirty!
